You may not have a 'fix'.
When older games, such as the one you have, are played when booted into a 'classic' OS (OS 9 & below), the game software controls certain aspects of the computer hardware operation (like it resets colors to 256 & sometimes screen resolution to a lower value). However, when operating in classic while booted in OS X, these hardware operations are not automatically implemented, resulting in no or degraded play of the game software. You might experiment with setting the colors to 256 and/or screen resolution before you start up the game.
