there is a program called 'OPENELEC'.
This program can be installed on the Pi
and then by loading some .ac3 files
(such as the ones available below)
onto a USB thumb drive, you will be able to

the HDMI output must be connected to a
media receiver that provides 5.1 surround
decoding through the HDMI ports.
Then in the settings for OPENELEC,
make sure that the audio output is set
to the 5.1 audio setting. If this setting is not
